CHANEL Paris - Bombay

Invitation card.
Mon canari a mangé mon ordinateur ?

Karl Lagerfeld connaît - et me connaît - si bien !

I, Queen of the delays, should be able to find a good excuse... My canary has eaten my laptop ? Internet was cut off because of the storm ? I was taken by the exams and Christmas shopping ? Yeah... This seems to be the most credible - and realistic.
It sucks to write about a show after more than a week, but it would suck even more to not talk about it. Do you know Perfection ?

Karl Lagerfeld knows it - and knows me - so well ! He knows how much I love India, and there it is ! He makes me travel in a luxury Bollywood world ! Well, me and all of you... But seeing his two biggest passions together in a show is absolutely orgasmic, trust me.
It was at the "Métiers d'Art" that Lagerfeld introduced us to this "anti-gloom" show. After Moscow, Shanghai and Byzantium, let me call "Paris - Mumbai" !
He keeps us traveling and actually, the Kaiser knows how to honor its artisans.

A tribute to the little hands of the House where the tweed is embroidered with gold thread, and adorned with a multitude of rows of pearls, belts and necklaces. Where encrusted coats act like mirror balls. Where dreadlocks become chic since they are mating with front jewelry. When the saris become the uniform of the bohemian Parisian bourgeois  and where jewelry heavily accumulated is an evidence of the wealth of artisans' esperience.
The Grand Palace transformed for the occasion into an Indian palace had become for the time of a show the "fantasy of India imagined from Paris" as Karl puts it : large tables browsing the gallery worthy of the great princely feasts, topped with mountains of desserts, teas and incense, with their cascades of fruit, in a very candelabrum and chandeliers atmosphere... We were there, in India.
